Every year or so us girls (we are besties and sisters around the country) try to do a trip. This year we headed towards Sarah's near Washington DC.
I landed and a sweet, dear friend picked me up at the airport. Terrence showed me his hometown, his place and took me to one of his fav restaurants near the water. It was such a delightful time! He is like a brother to me (and a best friend of my brothers) and love him. We could have talked and hung out for days. Oh how I wish we lived closer!
Here's a picture of us a long time back...
Sarah and I picked up Keri the next day at the airport. We hit up her precious little town (Leesburg) and went to a wine bar before Amy and Brenda drove in.
Hello Bren and Ames! Brenda flew into Ohio to drop her kiddos off at her folks house and drove down with Amy.
We ate and laughed and hugged at a local place then headed to Sarah's...
For more apps, cheese, and wine wine of course!
Can't leave out laughter and silly's.
Sarah's patio. Her dashing husband Brad would come serve us.
The next day...DC.
We got our coffees and lattes and were off...
We got to our hotel downtown and they had a surprise in our suite for us. So lovely.
They had a rooftop pool, here is Sarah knitting. So cute.
We were off to explore.
White House.
Here we are at The W, Washington swanky and very old gorgeous historical hotel.
For a cheer.
We ended up at a small spanish wine bar for small plates/tapas. Here we are in the courtyard until it starts raining. The food was AMAZING.
Night out after touristing it the next day.
Here we are at "Founding Farmers" downtown. It was sooooo good. We then caught a comedy show after dinner. I don't have any pics of that for some reason?
Here we are at the Hamilton, another old establishment. It was probably about 2am at this point. What a fun night! We ate, we danced at another old bar, we cheered to another wonderful girls trip. This and the next photo below are my favs of the whole trip.
It is so us!
Our hearts are so close and connected being that we grew up (and still growing up together).
Tourists!
It was HOT that afternoon.
We hit up the big stuff...I didn't include all the pics. We took a bus tour, got off at Smithsonian, did the Holocaust museum, Capital, Lincoln memorial, Vietnam memorial...there is so much to see (and a lot of walking in between!) that we didn't have time for everything.
Our last night. Sniff, sniff.
At the oldest Hamilton restaurant.
There were all of President Roosevelt's taxidermy animals mounted around.
Walking back to our hotel, there was a big tour bus. The Black Crowes were packing up! They are a metal band from 1989 with the hit "She Talks to Angel" and more. I saw the lead singer and then we stopped a guy. He was the coordinator/tour lead for the band and took us "to a secret place" that overlooks all of DC. It was so cool! Great way to end the trip for sure.
